5 Pictures Of An Untouristy Barcelona

If you're tired of the common posts on Barcelona, featuring the Ramblas, a bunch of buildings designed by Gaudi, and a poorly-cooked paella served inwards a eating theatre owned past times Chinese people, read this. In the past times 6 months I create got had the chance to create got long walks inwards this wonderful city. I came across all sorts of things: ugly, irksome too dull neighbourhoods, but also incredibly vibrant places that tourists don't fifty-fifty know about. As whatsoever great  European city, Barcelona has plenty things to hand off y'all busy for a lifetime. Here are 5 pictures of a Barcelona that the tourist usually does non see.

Sarrià is a residential neighbourhood inwards the northward of the city. It is a wealthy expanse closed to the hills to the north, repose too a chip posh. There are no tourists there, yet it is a charming place, alongside one-time buildings, churches too cafés. It nevertheless retains that pleasant too relaxed atmosphere of hamlet life that has been lost inwards many other neighbourhoods. There was a small flea marketplace inwards the primary foursquare when I visited, too I spent my fourth dimension exactly looking at balconies sum of plants too Catalan flags, passing past times modernist villas whose name I had never heard of.

In Sarrià I  came across this store of organic products past times chance. For a second, I idea I was inwards London.

Is this London?

The neighbourhood where I'm currently living is called Clot. It has an urban feeling, it is pop but not sketchy, sum of locals but no boring. The primary common of the area, called exactly Parc del Clot, has been redeveloped using parts of the one-time RENFE workshops.  I particularly similar this slice of street fine art close the park: I mean value it encapsulates the atmosphere of this expanse of the urban meat really well. This is non El Born, the trendiest purpose of the urban meat where expats alive too which they never seem to leave, it is quite dissimilar too it has its ain vibe.

Barcelona: sometimes it's cute, sometimes it's badass!

The tiles are 1 of the most charming things inwards Barcelona for individual alongside an oculus for details. There are many dissimilar kinds of tiles inwards Barcelona, but they ever create got a design. These ones are in all likelihood the most famous: they were designed past times Gaudi, too they are non all the same: existence hexagonal, they cast a complex pattern that is really overnice to see. You tin give notice uncovering them inwards Passeig the Gracia, if y'all grapple to create got your eyes off the store windows!

The neighbourhood of Gràcia is frequently ignored past times hasty tourists, besides busy on visiting the Casa Battlò too the Park Guell. Yet Gràcia is stylish, charming too a damn practiced house to catch a bite. Whether y'all want Vietnamese food, an Italian gelato or just some tapas to part alongside your friends, to caput at that spot is ever a practiced choice. There are cute lilliputian squares, overnice cafés, charming modernist buildings too much more. In August at that spot is a festival, Fiesta Major de Gràcia, that attracts crowds. I specially similar this tall dark-green edifice is Plaça del Sol. What create y'all think, would y'all pose Gràcia inwards your sightseeing listing for Barcelona?
